1942  This booklet deals with chain skidding; but much of its advice applies to other methods in which log carriers of some kind are used (such as "bobbing," "draying," "boganning," etc.).
1944  . . . boganning uses a small sleigh (bogan) built in the camp with two natural crook runners made from hardwood trees with a diameter from 6 to 7 inches at breast-height. The runners each support three knees, leaning inwards supporting two longitudinal members and cross-members forming a rack. Four-foot wood [pulp sticks] is piled across, a load consisting of 1/3 to 1/2 cord.
