1896  (n.d.)  The cook had the camp all to himself for a while; for the teams and choppers were at work a mile away, and the "cookee," as the cook's assistant is called, had betaken himself to a neighboring pond to fish for trout through the ice.
1957  Since this photo was taken, it is understood that an additional cook and cookee have been added to the staff to look after the appetites of some 260 employees.
1965  Food was laid out in "dishups" scattered along the table and "cookees" watched to see that they were well filled.
