1739  (1965)  . . . it is confessed that the Indians have considerable credit given them at the southern factory but here [Fort Prince of Wales] it is a trifle, and shall take care to break that custom as much as possible.
1800  (1801)  The Beaver sent by these young men twenty-two skins of his credits and also three skins worth fresh meat; gave them each a piece of tobacco, a flint, &c, and sent the Beaver 1 1/2 foot of tabacco.
