1861  One of the shipwrecked men saved from the schooner had been an ice-hunter, and whiled away many an hour by relating the mode of catching seals in the spring of the year on the coast of Newfoundland.
1896  (1965)  From Trinity, Ship Cove, Trouty . . . and other small places, the daring ice hunters set off with high hopes . . . to chase the wary seal. . . .
1964  The large credits in the spring are obviously for marine ironwork, gunsmithing, etc., etc. done for Ridley's ice-hunters.
