1859  In proof of the latter the lowest sum named by any miner as the product of a day's rocking is three to five dollars, for nearly two hundred miles along Fraser river.
1900  There are quite a few Chinamen all along the river who make a few dollars rocking.
1936  We could always get enough water to operate two or three "rockers" but when our claims were being worked on a fairly large scale the rocking system could no longer be economically applied.
