1910  In olden days in the winter a sled team used to leave Fort Garry in Manitoba and proceed along the Red River to Lake Winnipeg.
1914  . . . Clarke's friends were unable to find food enough for sled-teams.
1928  A 'bred' fisherman by the name of Colin Mackenzie assured me that the most terrible mess-up he had ever seen occurred when two six-dog sled-teams got to fighting in a canoe containing a score of sturgeon lines.
