Type: 5. Frequency — This is a proprietary name which came to be used generically to refer to any brand of laundry bleach. In 2006, the Javex company was acquired by Clorox Company and their bleach products were renamed as "Javex by Clorox", and are now known simply as "Clorox" (see Clorox Company reference). Chart 1 shows that this term is very rare outside Canada.
