- 1787 (1905) They are mostly thriving, in so much that they have been able to supply the King's posts with bread, and very soon they will be able to be a good saving to Great Britain, as the expense of transporting provisions and stores to the upper posts is immense.
- 1832 Here [Sept Iles] there is a king's post rented to the Hudson Bay Company.
- 1963 The Hudson's Bay Company took over the old King's Post in 1831 and has operated it continuously ever since.

- 1786 (1906) The lease under which His Majesty's Domain Lands . . . known by the name of King's Posts, and the Fisheries belonging to the Same, are held by Thomas Dunn, Wm. Grant; Peter & Stuart, Esquires, expires on the last day of October next.
