a member of the Quebec provincial parliament, who is called Member of the National Assembly.
Type: 5. Frequency — Although there are other national states whose constitutive parts call their legislatures National Assemblies, such as Wales, the term MNA is most prevalent in Canada (see Chart 1). Quebec's legislature changed its name to the National Assembly in 1968. Consequently MNA replaced MLA from that point on.
