Type: 5. Frequency — Tensor is a trademark of the 3M Company that has been generalized in Canada to refer to all kinds of elastic bandages (see Chart 1). Tensor is a semantic generalization similar to kleenex for paper tissue and google for internet searching. Tensor bandages are used to support joints (see Image 1), to control swelling, or to apply pressure to wounds. They are also called Ace bandages, another 3M trade-mark, a name that is more popular in the US.
