- 1837  The attention of the Board of Education having been this day called to a new and improved system of practical Arithmetic, about to issue from Mr. Haszard's press, for the use of the Central Academy -- they most heartily concur in recommending it to the immediate use of the various District Schools throughout the country, and to the patronage of the public at large. 
- 1907  The Board of Education was recommended to take the matter up with the secretaries of school boards and was empowered to appropriate a reasonable sum to assist in purchasing flags in cases where school boards are not willing to bear the whole cost.
