Type: 5. Frequency — The term is a positive name for a very small dwelling. These “units” are typically smaller than one-room apartments with full cooking and washing facilities (Canada: bachelor apartment, US: studio), and appear most frequently in Canada, followed by the US (see Chart 1), where efficiency apartment is the term of choice.
