the Canadian five-cent piece.
Although called anickel, after United States practice, for many years, the Canadian five-cent piece was until the 1920's a small silver coin; since this was withdrawn from use, a larger coin of nickel alloy has been in circulation, except during World War Ii when it was temporarily displaced by a bronze coin.
