- 1908 [Dall's Mountain Sheep: It is probably this recently-determined variety or species of wild sheep which inhabits the Rocky Mountains of the lower Mackenzie River to the Arctic coast, while the true Bighorn . . . exists in the ranges to the south.]
- 1958 The white or "Dall" sheep occur in northern British Columbia, the Yukon and Northwest Territories, and the grey or "Stone" sheep occur in British Columbia.
- 1966 We are speaking of a harvest of one dall sheep, one bear, etc. per thousand square miles.
