- 1747  (1949)  It's suffitient to give them one gallon Indn. Brandy soon after they come, or before any game is to be had, & no more tell the Season is Done.
- 1748  Three Indians came, with their Canoe, Alongside, telling us, they had Geese, and when Aboard, brought three out of a large greasy Laether Satchel, picked and dressed; for which they had a Bottle of Indian Brandy, the Name given for two Thirds of Brandy, and one of Water.
